Fans circulate air within an area for cooling and ventilation. They consist of two or more blades rotating around a central axle, usually housed in a grille or wire mesh casing. The blades may be angled or scooped, which allows them to carry more air with every stroke. They usually have button or dial controls for adjusting the rotation speed of the blades .Most fans are powered by electric motors and may run on battery or mains power.
