Types of Coffee Makers

Kinds of Coffee Makers include the following:

Coffee machines

Coffee machines can be classified as automatic, French press, stove top, espresso, vacuum, drip, or pod. These machines can produce either hot or cold brewed coffee, with some of them being able to do both functions. Coffee machines come in varying sizes with different cup capacity.

The most popular type of coffeemaker – the automatic coffee machine – takes the guesswork out of coffee making, so they are good for beginners. You simply need to pour water into the reservoir and let the machine heat it until it reaches the right temperature. The automatic coffee maker will then pulse the water through the ground coffee beans in the filter.

Percolators

Percolators have two parts: the lower half contains the boiling water and the upper half that houses the coffee grains. The boiling water is forced to the upper half where the coffee grains are, before they are filtered through a fine sieve.

Choosing Coffee Makers (Buying tips)

Functions. Coffeemakers should score high on reliability, good design, sensible features, and, brewing temperature. Even the most expensive brands sometimes do not achieve the proper temperature for optimum brewing. Stick to well-reviewed brands to make sure that your coffee comes out tasting rich and consistently hot.

Carafe. There are two kinds of carafe for coffee makers:  glass and thermal. Glass carafes – the most popular in electric coffee makers – make it easy for you to see when your coffee is running low and when it is ready. There are some higher-end coffee machines that have glass carafes with adjustable heating units that allow you to indicate your brew’s temperature. You may also prefer a coffee maker with a thermal carafe, which tends to keep the coffee hotter for a longer period of time without burning it. These thermal carafes are also portable because they don’t use burners.
