Digital cable converters, also called converter boxes, are electronic devices connected to non-digital televisions used for receiving cable television broadcast signals. They are used for older television models that are not plug-and-play or digital cable ready. They are composed of a display screen that shows the channel number and time, and different buttons that perform various functions like Power off/on, changing volume levels, scrolling through cable channels, and accessing menu options.
