A Secure Digital (SD) memory card is a removable storage device used in many portable devices, such as mobile phones and mp3 players. It is actually an upgrade of the earlier MultiMediaCard (MMC). It has the same physical attributes as an MMC, but it s generally thicker and has an extra locking switch on the side that prevents unauthorized reading, writing over, and deleting of data.
